## Why local matters here, and where it does not

Aruba is small enough that the person who built your site should be reachable. It is also connected enough — 97% of the island is online — that a slow, expensive website is a real cost.

### Same island, same hours

09:00 to 14:00, Monday to Friday, Aruba time. You get one person who knows your site, not a ticket queue in another timezone.

### Four languages

English and Spanish by default, Papiamento and Nederlands on request. arubadentalclinic.com runs a four-language switcher built this way.

### Tourist traffic is phone traffic

Visitors arrive on a phone, on hotel wifi, mid-plan. A 10 MB homepage is a lost booking. Weight gets measured, not assumed.

Two facts worth knowing if you run a business here. Aruba has about 108,000 people and roughly 105,000 internet users — about 97% penetration, the highest in the Caribbean — with around 88,000 on social media. And the local web field is thin: the island's main business directory lists two web companies in total. There is very little standing between a good local site and the top of a local search result.

## Built here already

Two Aruban businesses run sites built here, both on Cloudflare, both at $0 a month for hosting. Open either one and check it against whatever you are paying for now.

### Aruba Dental Clinic

A patient site in English, Spanish, Papiamento and Dutch. Before the move the domain was failing its security certificate and visitors got a browser warning instead of a website. Now: 320 ms to first paint, on its own domain, at $0 a month.

## If your business is on Wix, Squarespace or GoDaddy

Plenty of Aruban businesses are, and most of them are paying between $120 and $470 a year for it. The site can usually move; a Wix site has to be rebuilt, and Wix says so itself.

Checking a sample of Aruban business websites in August 2026 turned up Squarespace, Wix, GoDaddy's builder, Shopify, Webflow and a lot of WordPress — the same mix as anywhere else, with the same monthly bills attached. Several did not resolve at all.

One local specific: a .aw domain is registered through SETAR and cannot move to Cloudflare Registrar, so that registration fee stays where it is regardless. The hosting is still $0. A .com is unaffected either way.

## Questions

How much does a website cost in Aruba?

$890 to move an existing site to $0-a-month hosting, $1,900 to move and redesign it, and from $2,400 for a new one. For comparison, a local agency publishes a basic package at $1,500 and web hosting at $1,000.

Do you work in Papiamento and Dutch?

Yes. Pages ship in English and Spanish by default, and in Papiamento and Dutch on request. arubadentalclinic.com runs a four-language switcher built this way.

Can you host a .aw domain for free?

The hosting is free either way, but a .aw domain is registered through SETAR and cannot move to Cloudflare Registrar, so the registration fee stays where it is. A .com is unaffected.

Are you actually in Aruba?

Yes, Oranjestad. Working hours are 09:00 to 14:00, Monday to Friday, Aruba time.

Do you work with businesses outside Aruba?

Yes — most of the work is remote, in English or Spanish, for clients in the US and elsewhere. Everything is delivered the same way regardless of where you are.
